Tournament Classifications
The following classifications identify the competitive level of teams
invited to participate in tournaments:
1. Division 1
First division of "A-level" age pure, U10, U11,
U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U18 and U19
competition teams classified by oldest
player. Division 1 tournaments are open to all CYSA and affiliated teams from foreign countries and
other state association.
2.
Division 2
Second division of "B-level" mixed ages (by
oldest player) U-10, U12, U14, U16 and U19 competition teams.
Division 2 tournaments are open to all CYSA affiliated teams from foreign
countries and other state associations.
At their discretion, tournaments may limit the number
of older players on a Division 2
team's
roster. Under 19 Division 3 and 4 teams may participate in Division 2 tournaments without
jeopardizing their Division 3/4 standing.
3.
Division 3
Upper level, advanced or first division development
teams whose players are normally selected via tryouts and a draft. These
teams include only a portion of the league population in an age group and are intended to provide a
level of play between house league and competition teams.
Division 3 tournaments are
open to all CYSA and affiliated teams from foreign countries and other state associations.
4.
Division 4
House or lower house development teams that are
normally formed on the basis or geographical distribution. These
teams are usually intended to be equal in strength when formed and do not conform to any of the
above classifications.
