Announcing the Marin Commissioner's Youth Soccer League!

If you have a youth soccer team in Marin County, and are interested in participating in the CYSA District 5 Playing League, please contact us for further information.

Registration is $17.50 per player, due by June 15th. 
 

Division 1 Fall: U10 - U14 teams will have 6 games played on two weekends (three games per weekend), all games at Trione Fields in Santa Rosa.  Team registration form due May 22nd.  The Playing League fee is $100 per team, due by May 22nd.  Girls will play 09/20, 09/21, 10/17 and 10/18.  Boys will play 09/12, 09/13, 10/03 and 10/04.  An additional fee of $525 per team is necessary (for fields and referees), due June 12th. 

Division 1 Winter:  U15 - U19:  Winter league starting in January, 2010 (more info to come).

Division 3 Fall:  U10 - U19 teams will have approximately 12 games, played on non (CYSA) tournament weekends from September to November.  The Playing League fee is $100 per team, due by May 15th. 

Division 3 Summer/Winter:  U16 - U19 teams will have approximately 10 games.  Summer games will be played weekdays, the last week in July and first week in August (2 games each = 4  games).  The winter portion (6 games) will likely start in January and finish in time for A-Cup.  The Playing League fee is $100 per team, due by May 15th.  An additional fee of $900 per team is necessary (for fields and referees), due May 15th.

Division 4 Fall: U16 - U19 boys and girls teams have approximately 10 - 12 games.  League games will start 09/19 - 09/20, with final games  11/21 - 11/22.  Team Entry form and $100 playing league fee due August 15th.

Scroll to the bottom of this page for  the latest schedules as provided to me.  Please double check and confirm the days and dates as they have changed MANY times.  Coaches, If you find a discrepancy please confirm with the opposing coach in plenty of time to correct the fields and referee schedules.  Do not wait until the last minute to confirm and expect a change.

Playing League Rules for U-10 Division 1 & 3

All U-10 teams playing in the District Playing League will play under these rules, they supercede any and all of the home league's rules.

  1.   Teams will play eight (8) players on the field, including a goalkeeper.
  2.   Fields should be about 50 x 80 yards with a 6 x 15 yard goal area.
  3.   Use a size four (4) ball.
  4.   Goals will be a maximum 7 feet high by 18 feet wide.
  5.   The games will be two 25 minute halves with a standard half time.
  6.   All FIFA Laws of the Game are in effect.
  7.   The offsides rule shall apply.
  8.   Penalty kicks shall be awarded per FIFA Laws of the Game.
  9.   All Division 1 and 3 games require that 3-licensed referees be used in all games.
10.   Teams should have no more than thirteen (13) players except with league approval

The U-10 modified game in the CYSA Team Manual is a guideline and recommendation for U-10 games, however, these modified rules have not been adopted by the District V Playing League.  Other than size of field, goal size, ball size and length of halves, there are no other modifications for U-10 play in the District V Playing League.

Division 1 District 5 Playing League

Division 1 Annual Mandatory Coaches Meeting is announced each Spring
1.    Each team is to have either the coach or a team representative at the meeting.  One person may not represent all the teams from a league.
2.    Teams wishing to play up an age group must make their request at the time the team application is turned in. 
3.    All team applications must be received by the specified due date along with the fee of $100.00 per team written on a league check. 
4.    U-10 teams may not play up an age group.
5.    U-10's will play 8 v 8.
6.    Jamboree's may be held providing the District Jamboree Policy is followed.
7.    District Playing League rules will be available at the meeting and on this web site.

Division 3 & 4 District 5 Playing League


Division 3 Coordinators will receive a letter and forms in April.
1.   All leagues wishing to participate must submit forms/fees by specified dates ($100.00 per team).
2.   U-10's will play 8  v 8.
3.   U-10 teams may not play up an age group.
4.   Jamboree's may be held providing the District Jamboree Policy is followed.
5.   District Playing League rules will be available at the meeting and on this web site.

Division 3 and 4 teams entered into the District 5 Playing League must be formed with the intent that teams from the same league in the same gender age group are of equal strength.  League rules and regulations submitted annually for review (per Section 3:01:02 – CYSA General Procedures) must include procedures for a selection process intended to produce equal strength teams. Teams formed in a manner that intentionally produce unequal strength teams are subject to reclassification by the District Commissioner
